About Ariella
Ariella (AKA "CATastrophe") passing up her peers in roller derby in February (she's wearing a light green shirt and a cat helmet)
Ariella is a 7th-grade student at Pressman Academy, a Jewish day school. She loves cats and enjoys going to Ramah in the Rockies, which is an amazing Jewish outdoor adventure camp. She likes creative writing, doing art, roller derby, and hiking. Her favorite foods are chocolate and wild raspberries/blackberries/mulberries. And cheese and tacos. She loves playing in the snow and wind and rain and playing in general!
Causes that Ariella supports are the environment, health in the developing world and also elsewhere, hunger, LGBTQIA+ rights, human rights in general, and helping all cats (domestic and wild). One organization she likes to donate to is GAVI: The Vaccine Alliance, which gives vaccines to people in the poorest countries in the world. Another good one is NRDC, which advocates for better environmental policies to people in power. A third is the Carter Center, which advances human rights and helps eradicate easily preventable diseases. She plans to donate a portion of her bat mitzvah gift money to those organizations (please don't feel pressure to give a gift). In addition, the Benor family has made a donation to GAVI in honor of all bat mitzvah guests. |
